Updated ICC World Test Championship Points Table After IND vs BAN 2nd Test 2024

The ICC World Test Championship (WTC) Points Table has been updated after the conclusion of the second and final Test match between India and Bangladesh. Indian team, led by Rohit Sharma, boosted their chances to advance to the final of the World Test Championship for the third consecutive time.
The India national cricket team secured a 2-0 whitewash over the Bangladesh national cricket team in Kanpur on Tuesday, October 1. Team India turned the match with their aggressive batting approach on Day 4. The series sweep is very crucial for the Rohit Sharma-led side in the context of the WTC final.
After two days passed without a ball being bowled, the Test match was heading towards a draw. Notably, only 35 overs of play were possible on the opening day. The Indian bowlers bundled out the opposition team for 233 runs in the post-lunch session on the fourth day of the second Test match.
Indian batters adopted an aggressive approach to go past Bangladesh's score as quickly as possible. Openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma added a 55-run partnership in just 3.5 overs. Indian team broke the records for the fastest 50, 100, 150, 200, and 250 runs in the history of Test cricket.
The home team bowled out the Najmul Hossain Shanto-led team for just 146 runs in the second innings. Jasprit Bumrah, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Ravindra Jadeja took three wickets each. Akash Deep secured one wicket in the second innings. Bangladesh set a target of 95 runs to seal a series sweep.
India successfully chased down the target in 17.2 overs, losing only two wickets. Yashasvi Jaiswal played a key role by scoring his second consecutive half-century in the match.
Updated ICC World Test Championship Points Table Revealed
India secured their eighth win in 11 matches in the current World Test Championship cycle. Team India is at the top of the table with a Points Percentage (PCT) of 74.24. Meanwhile, Bangladesh dropped to seventh place, with their points percentage falling to 34.37 after back-to-back losses.
