Updated ICC World Test Championship Points Table After WI vs SA 2nd Test 2024

The South Africa national cricket team secured a comfortable 40-run victory against the West Indies in the second and final Test of the series.
South Africa has climbed up in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 points table after a victory in the recently concluded Test series in the West Indies.
The visiting team defended a 263-run target at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on Saturday, August 17 (local time).
Left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj took three wickets in the West Indies' second innings. Kagiso Rabada scalped three wickets, while Wiaan Mulder and Dane Piedt took two wickets each.
The Proteas secured the two-Test series 1-0 against the West Indies. Wiaan Mulder was named 'Player of the Match' for his all-round performance in the final Test.
Maharaj was awarded the 'Man of the Series' for his bowling performances. The left-arm spinner bagged 13 wickets at an average of 16.08.
Updated ICC World Test Championship Points Table Revealed
South Africa has advanced to fifth place in the ongoing ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 points table. The Proteas improved their position in the table from seventh to fifth.
They have won two matches out of six Tests in the ongoing WTC cycle. South Africa now holds a point percentage of 38.89.
The West Indies, on the other hand, remain at the bottom of the World Test Championship standings in ninth position. Their points percentage dropped from 20.83% to 18.52% after their recent defeat.
The Kraigg Brathwaite-led team was bowled out for 222 runs while chasing a target of 263 runs in the match.
India is at the top of the World Test Championship standings, followed by Australia, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka. Pakistan is in sixth place, ahead of England, Bangladesh, and the West Indies.
The top two teams will qualify for the WTC final, which is scheduled to be played at Lord’s in London in 2025.

Pakistan has the opportunity to reclaim the fifth spot with a strong performance in their upcoming home series against Bangladesh.
The two-match Test series will begin on August 21 in Rawalpindi, with the second Test starting on August 30 in Karachi. Pakistan currently has a points percentage of 36.66%.
