USA pacer Ali Khan and top-order batsman Jaskaran Malhotra had a heated argument with each other on X (formerly Twitter) amid the ICC T20 World Cup 2024

The feud between Ali Khan and Jaskaran Malhotra took place yesterday after the Indian team defeated co-hosts USA in their 3rd Group A match. The match, which was another low-scoring thriller, took place at the Nassau County Stadium in New York. This fixture will conclude team India's New York leg with their remaining group game set to take place at the Lauderhill stadium in Florida.

While the Indian team will take on Canada on June 15th, first-timers USA will lock horns with Ireland in their last group match. If the US are able to win their tie against the Irish team, then they are certain to join Rohit Sharma's India in the Super Eight stages, starting from June 19 onwards in the West Indies.

But ahead of such an important few weeks remaining in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, all is not well with the USA team. Fast bowler Ali Khan apparently chose to have an online argument with batsman Jaskaran Malhotra.

What exactly happened between Ali Khan and Jaskaran Malhotra?

The online argument between Ali Khan and Jaskaran Malhotra began after the latter posted a meme of his teammate Shayan Jahangir getting out for a duck against India. The meme, which was made by the famous meme page RCVJ, highlighted a statement that Jahangir had made to the ICC a couple of years on the context of - who is the real king of cricket.

"Last year in the World Cup qualifiers, I told the ICC people that one of my dreams is to play against Virat Kohli and show him who is king."

While playing the 50-over World Cup qualifiers last year with the USA, Shayan Jahangir had expressed his dream of playing against Virat Kohli one day. That was not the only desire he had. He also added that he wants to show Kohli as to who the real king is. And yesterday when Jahangir had the chance to prove his words, the batter departed for a golden duck.

That was picked up by the meme page and the photo was posted on their official X handle. It was then reposted by Jaskaran Malhotra, who holds the record of being the second batsman to smash 6 sixes in ODI cricket. Malhotra had posted the meme without any caption.

Malhotra's post was not appreciated by Ali Khan, who went down the comment section and wrote, "I never expected this from my ex-teammate. The hate towards another player! This is very unprofessional of you @JaskaranUSA."

Jaskaran Malhotra responded to it by replying, "Just to let you know, go see my post. How am I supporting you and my team? Please go and check, brother."
