USA vs IND: 'Job not done' - USA star fires warning to Rohit Sharma's India after historic win over Pakistan in T20 World Cup 2024

USA, on Thursday (June 7), stunned Pakistan in the 11th game of the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024 to send shockwaves across the cricketing world.

After the series win over Bangladesh last month and the impressive victory over Canada in the World Cup opener, USA were expected to do well against Pakistan but not many were expecting them to beat one of the most decorated teams of all time. The co-hosts, however, had other ideas. They went on to stun the Men in Green to register their second consecutive win of the tournament.

After restricting Pakistan to 159 for 7, the Monank Patel-led side finished their innings on 159 as well. It was followed by the Super Over and USA managed to beat Pakistan with ease to register arguably their most famous victory in the game so far.

USA eye more success:

While the USA are receiving praise from all around the world for their stunning display against Pakistan, they are not willing to rest on the laurels. Fast-bowler Ali Khan has made it clear that the team is fully focused on its objective of doing well in the tournament as he fired a warning to India and Ireland.

The Pakistan-born pacer stated that the USA are now eyeing victories in their remaining group games against India and Ireland to qualify for the Super 8s stage.

"Great win for us against a great side Pakistan. We've been waiting for this stage for a long time and we've been trying to grab this opportunity with both hands. I don't think the job is done yet as our job is to qualify for the Super 8. So the team is really confident, we're gonna keep this momentum and hopefully get a win against India and Ireland," said Ali Khan to Cricbuzz.

With two wins from as many games, the USA are currently at the top of the points table in Group A ahead of the likes of India and Pakistan. One more win in the remaining two games could very well put USA in a strong position to qualify for the next stage. They will be taking on Team India in their next game, scheduled to take place on June 12 in New York.
