India captain Rohit Sharma has responded to Inzamam-ul-Haq's ball-tampering allegations against Team India. The former Pakistan captain made the bizarre claims after India's impressive win over Australia in the Super 8 game of the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

Inzamam has alleged that the Indian pacers have been consistently tampering with the ball in the competition. He has claimed that the Indian bowlers are altering the match balls in order to extract reverse swing. India's pacers have been mighty impressive in the ongoing competition and such has been their performance that Inzamam believes it is not possible to perform that well without altering the ball.

Inzamam and another former Pakistan skipper, Saleem Malik pointed out Arshdeep's performance against Australia and said that it is not possible to get reverse swing as early as the 14th or 15th over of the game. Inzamam also said that the umpires should be careful about these things before claiming that it is impossible to extract reverse swing so early in the innings.

Rohit Sharma's reply to Inzamam-ul-Haq:

Rohit Sharma was asked about the allegations when he addressed the media ahead of India's semifinal clash against England. In reply, the Indian captain laughed off the allegations and explained the reason behind bowlers getting a reverse swing in the Caribbean conditions. He also took a dig at the former Pakistan cricketers and urged them to open their minds.

"What answer will I give? If you are playing under the sun and the wickets are this dry, the ball will reverse on its own. The ball is reversing for all teams. Not just for us. Sometimes, it's important to open your mind (use your brain). You have to understand where we are playing. We are not playing in England or Australia," Rohit Sharma said.

Meanwhile, India will be taking on England on Thursday (June 27) for a place in the final. India had suffered a 10-wicket loss against England in the semifinal of the last T20 World Cup and will be looking to avenge that loss. Before the game between India and England, South Africa and Afghanistan will be taking on each other in the first semifinal.
