Australian national cricket team opener Usman Khawaja took a dig at former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar on his official social media account. Usman Khawaja reacted to an Instagram post claiming Sachin Tendulkar would have scored 200 international centuries if there had been DRS in his time.

Sachin Tendulkar enjoyed remarkable success during the 1990s and 2000s. He holds the record as the all-time leading run-scorer in international cricket, amassing 34,357 runs across 664 matches. Tendulkar is also the highest run-scorer in both ODIs and Tests, with 18,426 and 15,921 runs, respectively.

The 51-year-old also holds the record for the most international centuries (100) and Test centuries (51). He was overtaken by Virat Kohli for the most ODI centuries during the 2023 World Cup. Tendulkar ended his 24-year international career with his final Test in November 2013 against the West Indies.

This Can't Be Legit, 4 Balls in a Row! – Usman Khawaja

Usman Khawaja shared an Instagram story where he humorously reacted to a reel in which Waqar Younis hit Sachin Tendulkar’s pads four consecutive times. Khawaja shared his reaction with Avesh Khan's review time sticker.

"This can't be legit, 4 balls in a row!" wrote Usman Khawaja with an Avesh Khan sticker of review time.

Khawaja is currently part of the Australia squad for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25. The left-handed batter has struggled to make an impact with the bat in the first two matches, scoring 34 runs across 4 innings at an average of 11.33. He will be next seen in action in the third Test at the Gabba.

Virat Kohli is better than Sachin Tendulkar in ODIs - Usman Khawaja

Last year, Khawaja stated that he believes Virat Kohli is better than Tendulkar in ODIs. While acknowledging that Tendulkar was the benchmark for his generation, Khawaja emphasized that no one has ever done what Kohli is doing in the game.

"I am going to say Virat Kohli is better than Sachin Tendulkar in ODIs. If you look at the stats, he has almost taken over how many hundreds he (Tendulkar) has got, and he has played so many more less games. Sachin was the benchmark for when I grew up, but what Kohli is doing right now—no one has ever done that in the game," Khawaja had said.
