Usman Tariq issued recent comments on his bowling action after Tim David's dismissal in the ongoing The Hundred league in the UK. David, who was dismissed caught behind the stumps by Usman, was not happy and asked the umpire to call the delivery a no ball.

The umpire denied Tim David's appeal for a no ball and signalled for an out. On his way back to the dressing room, the Australian batter had some words with the umpire, which seemed to be about the Pakistan spinner's bowling action.
The incident involving Tim David sparked a fresh controversy over Usman Tariq's bowling, whether it is legal in international cricket or not. Amid the freshly sparked controversy, the spinner himself issued a fresh statement in an interview.
Usman Tariq seeks action from umpires and match referees
Like a few batters, the spinner also seems frustrated with the ever-ending doubts over his bowling. Mentioning a match in Dubai against England, when Tom Banton acted the same as David, Usman Tariq felt that now the time has arrived for the umpires and match referees to do something to stop such controversies.
"Maybe the umpires and match referee need to do something. I remember even in the International T20 League in Dubai, England's Tom Banton did the same thing, and at that time, I let him know my thoughts very clearly after getting him out,” the sppinner said.
Highlighting the modern nature of T20 cricket where bowlers have very little room to show their skills, the spinner claimed that he worked hard on his bowling to be effective against the batters.
"This should stop now. I work very hard on my bowling for variations because in T20 cricket nowadays there is no mercy for spinners. You have to be focused all the time," Usman said in the interview.
There are a few other instances when opposing batters raised their fingers against the bowler. Earlier this year, when Australia was up against Pakistan for a T20I series, Cameron Green was not happy with Usman's bowling action, which includes a pause before delivering the ball.
In the Pakistan Super League (PSL), on multiple occasions, Usman's bowling action was under the scanner. Despite all the doubts, on every occasion so far, the spinner got the clearance to carry on his bowling.
Ravichandran Ashwin was in support of Usman Tariq
Former India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was among the rare cricket experts who stood in support of the Pakistan international. Ashwin, on a previous occasion, stated that Usman's bowling style is not against the cricket rule book.
He also mentioned that the pause before releasing the ball is hard to execute for the bowler. The former cricketer also opined that the batters also have the right to question his action.
