Australia all-rounder Cameron Green made a chucking gesture after being dismissed by Pakistan spinner Usman Tariq during the second T20I match in Lahore on Saturday, January 31. The moment quickly drew attention and sparked debate, and Tariq later responded off the field by posting on social media.
Pakistan defeated Australia by 90 runs at Gaddafi Stadium, handing them their heaviest T20I defeat in 21 years. The visitors were bowled out for just 108 in 15.4 overs, with all ten Australian wickets falling to spin. Pakistan took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026.

Cameron Green Accuses Usman Tariq of ‘Chucking’ After Dismissal
Cameron Green was dismissed by Usman Tariq in the 11th over of the run chase. He tried to hit across the line, but the ball went straight to Shadab Khan at point. Green scored 35 off 20 balls, and his wicket left Australia struggling at 6-76.
As he walked back, Green looked upset and clearly unhappy with Tariq’s bowling action. He twice copied the spinner’s action by swinging his arm with a bent elbow.
The incident quickly sparked debate on social media. Many Pakistan fans criticised Green’s reaction and mocked his behaviour after the dismissal. Others supported Green and questioned whether Tariq’s action was legal.

Usman Tariq Hits Back at Cameron Green as Feud Takes New Turn
Tariq responded to the controversy on social media. On Sunday morning, the Pakistan spinner shared a video on his Instagram story showing a child crying. He added the caption “after getting out” along with a laughing face emoji.
Many viewers took the post as a dig at Cameron Green. The upload suggested that Tariq was mocking the Australian all-rounder after the earlier accusation of chucking.

Usman Tariq’s Bowling Action Has Come Under the Spotlight
Tariq uses an unusual bowling style, as he pauses close to release and almost comes to a stop before delivering the ball. He bowls his off-breaks with a slinging motion and a visible bend in his arm.
Under ICC rules, a bowling action is illegal if the elbow straightens by more than 15 degrees during the delivery stride. Tariq has been reported twice for a suspected illegal action while playing for the Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League in 2024 and 2025.
The first report came from umpires Asif Yaqoob and Richard Illingworth, while the second involved match officials Ahsan Raza and Chris Brown. On both occasions, Tariq underwent biomechanical testing at Lahore’s National Cricket Academy.
Experts cleared his action each time, allowing him to continue bowling in T20 competitions. While his sidearm-style action is permitted, his elbow must still remain within the 15-degree limit.
