Vaibhav Sooryavanshi chose another big stage to showcase his unreal batting talent. In the ongoing tri-nation ODI series Final with the India A team, the 15-year-old has just created a record for scoring the fastest half-century in List A cricket.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi faces only 11 balls to complete the half-century against the Sri Lanka A team at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium in Dambulla on Sunday.

Fastest List A half-century for Vaibhav Sooryavanshi

On the fifth ball of the fourth over of the first innings of the match, the emerging opener hammered Dulaj Samuditha for a six to achieve the feat, after smashing two back-to-back boundaries in the previous two deliveries. In the last ball of the over, too, Vaibhav claimed a 4.

While writing this article, the teenage sensation is batting 80 balls off 23 balls with a strike rate of 347.83. There are already ten 4s and six 6s in his account and counting.

Sooryavanshi missed a well-deserved century.

When the batter was only a few inches away from claiming another T20 century, against the run of play, he lost his wicket. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was dismissed for 94 runs from 29 balls with the help of ten 4s and eight 6s. Sri Lanka A’s Sahan Arachchige clinched the wicket of the dangerous Indian batter.

The batter went behind the tossed-up delivery off the spinner. Vaibhav wanted to clear the mid-off fence but mistimed the shot and eventually lost the guard. The Bihar-born left the crease with a huge applause form the from the fans.

Ahead of India's tour to the UK, the 94-run knock is very crucial as the young man will travel to the United Kingdom with the senior Men's cricket team. In most of the tri-nation series, the batter, who claimed the Orange Cap for scoring the most runs in the IPL 2026 season for the Rajasthan Royals, had to struggle a lot to collect runs.

A few days ago, during the competition, against the same opposition, which was the Sri Lanka A cricket team, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi captured the headlines for the wrong reasons. India A lost that match against the host in a Super Over. After the thrilling super over, the young batter lost his cool and engaged in a controversial moment, where he was spotted exchanging fiery words with the opposing team players.

That incident attracted a lot of controversy, and there could be some pressure on the batter as well ahead of the final match. But at a very young age, he knows how to handle pressure situations, which he did multiple times in the past, during the Indian Premier League matches.
