The upcoming T20I series between India and England has already hit the headlines, and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is the biggest reason. In a massive step, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has decided to change the start timings of three matches in the five-match T20I series between the India National Cricket Team and the England National Cricket Team.

The reason behind the England and Wales Cricket Board’s (ECB) move is to attract a bigger television viewer and improve viewership across different regions, especially in India, where millions of fans are expected to watch the T20I actions between the two giants.

ECB revises England vs India T20I match timings

The India National Cricket Team is set to tour England for the five-match T20I series and three-match ODI series, starting from July 1. With millions of Indian fans expected to watch this white-ball series, the ECB has decided to make the matches more convenient for the Indian fans.

As reported by ESPNCricinfo, three of the five T20I matches will now start at 10 PM IST instead of the originally scheduled 11 PM IST. Earlier, the T20I matches were set to begin at 6:30 PM local time in England, which is 11:00 PM IST in India.

Now, after discussions with broadcasters, the ECB has decided to bring those match timings forward by one hour. As a result, those three matches will now start at 10:00 PM IST instead of the originally scheduled 11 PM IST and the remaining two matches will continue at their originally announced timings, which means 11 PM IST.

Broadcasters banks on India's massive viewership; ENG vs IND ODIs already sold out

Since India is one of the biggest cricket markets in the world, broadcasters are expecting huge television numbers during the series. The ECB has reportedly held talks with the stadium authorities, BCCI, Sky Sports (UK), and the Sony Sports Network (India), and all they agreed to was the idea.

Meanwhile, the excitement around the white-ball series is already visible. All three ODI matches have been completely sold out. Only a few tickets are still available for the five T20I matches between India and England next month.

The games will be played during the English summer, when daylight lasts until after 9 PM, which means most of the matches can be played in natural light even though they are evening games.

Shreyas Iyer's captaincy era to begin with UK tour with Vaibhav Sooryavanshi on focus

Recently, India announced their squad for the Ireland and England tour as well as for the Asian Games. The Men in Blue will play two T20I matches against Ireland in Belfast on June 26 and June 28. Ireland’s two T20I games against India had already sold out.

Shreyas Iyer will make his debut as the full-time India captain on the UK tour. However, the biggest talking point is the 15-year-old batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.

The left-handed batter has earned his maiden India call-up after an incredible IPL 2026 season, where he scored 776 runs for the Rajasthan Royals. Vaibhav is now on the verge of creating history as he is likely to make his international debut during the tour.
