The Shreyas Iyer-led India National Cricket Team had a scary moment involving Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Ravi Bishnoi in the field during the gold medal match against the Pakistan National Cricket Team at the Asian Games 2026 at the Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin.
A simple catch turned into a scary situation when Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Ravi Bishnoi almost crashed into each other while trying to dismiss Hasan Nawaz on Saturday, October 3. Earlier, Ishan Kishan involved in heated exchange with Pakistan players in Asian Games final.

The incident happened in the 9th over when Abhishek Sharma bowled to Hasan Nawaz. The Pakistan batter tried to hit the ball straight down the ground but completely mistimed his shot. The ball went high in the air and gave India a good chance to take the wicket in the gold medal match.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi ran towards the ball from long-off, while Ravi Bishnoi came running from long-on. The teenager reached the ball first and initially got his hands around it. However, Bishnoi was also closing in quickly. The two players made slight contact, and the ball slipped out of Vaibhav’s hands.
Hasan Nawaz survived and managed to take two runs from the delivery. The good news for India was that both Sooryavanshi and Bishnoi avoided a serious collision and were safe. It was a missed chance for India, but the bigger relief was that both fielders escaped injury.
