Young Indian cricketer Vaibhav Suryavanshi is reportedly set to receive personalized training at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru after his impressive performances in England. The left-handed batter aims to sharpen his skills ahead of India’s upcoming tour of Australia in September and October.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi became the youngest IPL centurion in the 2025 season. The left-handed batter got his chance in the playing XI after Samson’s injury during the group stage. Notably, the Royals initially planned to protect him from too much pressure, but he proved his skills in his maiden season.

On August 10, Vaibhav began a personalized training program at the National Cricket Academy (NCA). The program focuses on technical drills and match-specific practice designed to enhance his skills and prepare him for upcoming challenges.

His childhood coach, Manish Ojha, who has closely followed Vaibhav’s progress, stated that the training aims not only to prepare him for the Australia tour but also to help his long-term development as a professional cricketer.

This Training For Vaibhav Is Part Of That Process - Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s Childhood Coach

BCCI is preparing for the future by grooming young talent as senior players retire. Manish Ojha stated that players are groomed to meet the high demands of the game at the global level.

"BCCI is looking ahead. The senior players are gradually retiring, and to fill that vacuum, the next batch of youngsters must be fully ready. This training for Vaibhav is part of that process. We pick boys one by one and prepare them accordingly for the demands of international cricket," Ojha explained.

Suryavanshi scored 355 runs in five Youth ODIs at an impressive average of 71 during India’s Under-19 tour of England. He recorded the fastest century in Youth ODIs, reaching 100 runs off just 52 balls in the match at Worcester.

The Performance Level Drops - Manish Ojha On Vaibhav Suryavanshi

Vaibhav Suryavanshi will undergo a week-long training session in Bengaluru before joining the team for joint practice ahead of the upcoming tour. Manish Ojha stated that Vaibhav has strong abilities in T20s and one-day matches, but added that his performance dips in multi-day games.

"He has the ability to attack from the very first ball, which is a huge positive in T20s and one-dayers. You've seen it in the IPL, U-19, and Vijay Hazare. But in longer formats, the performance level drops compared to white-ball cricket. The goal is to bring that consistency up. If he plays 10 innings, 7-8 should be impactful," Ojha added.

Suryavanshi was acquired by RR for ₹1.1 crore ahead of IPL 2025. The left-handed batter impressed with his powerful and stylish hitting, including a 38-ball century against Gujarat Titans. He scored 252 runs in seven matches at a strike rate of 206.55 and won the Super Striker of the Season award.
