Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the young batting sensation from India, has been a superstar in the making, scoring centuries across every format and tournament he has played in over the last year. Former Indian selector has now drawn Sachin Tendulkar's reference to back the Bihar youngster's selection.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi stunned all with his stunning performances, showcasing his fearless intent and sheer power on the ball. Having played 15 youth ODI games, Suryavanshi averages 51.13 with two centuries and three half-centuries, with the best part being his impressive strike rate of 158.79.

With India struggling for an opening slot in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, a former Indian cricketer has called for the attention of the Indian selectors. He drew the reference to Sachin Tendulkar, who also debuted for India at the age of 16.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi's centuries in 2025

Vaibhav Suryavanshi has scored a century in almost every tournament he has played in the last year of 2025. Be it senior cricket or junior cricket, Suryavanshi has never failed to dominate the bowlers with his fearless striking.

Having scored hundreds against all, he scored a hundred in Youth Tests against Australia and then returned with another century score against England in the Youth ODI series. Domestically, hundreds of Suryavanshi came in the IPL, in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and now in the Vijay Hazare Trophy as well.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored a senior men's Asia Cup century against the UAE in the Asia Cup Rising Stars tournament and then scored another massive daddy hundred against the same opposition in the Men's Under-19 Asia Cup.

"He should be fast-tracked and brought into the Indian team soon," said Srikkanth

Kris Srikkanth has always been known for his opinions, and this time he has thrown his weight behind a teenage batting sensation. Impressed by his consistent performances, Srikkanth believes that the explosive batter should be rapidly promoted to the senior Indian team.

"Vaibhav is scoring centuries everywhere, be it the IPL, U19, anywhere. You can say it is against Arunachal Pradesh, but that is a different story. This boy has been hammering everybody across all kinds of matches."

"I had also said last year that they should fast-track him for the T20 World Cup. Maybe it is too late for that now, but they still fast-track him into the team. This boy has got tremendous potential. He should be fast-tracked and brought into the Indian team soon," Srikkanth said on his YouTube channel, 'Cheeky Cheeka'.

"Sachin also played at such a young age," Kris Srikkanth's massive claim

Kris Srikkanth, the former BCCI Selector, made a huge claim to back Vaibhav Suryavanshi for the Indian national team. Drawing parallels with the great Sachin Tendulkar, Srikkanth said that patience is a vile claim when it comes to exceptional talents, and India has already witnessed it before.

"People say let him play for some more time, let him do this, let him do that. Sachin also played a such a young age. Of course, he played for India after scoring hundreds at all levels, but the same thing can be done for this boy in white-ball cricket," he added.
