Virat Kohli has become the first Indian cricketer to land in Perth ahead of the highly anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 against Australia. Kohli arrived in Australia on Sunday (November 10) evening, ahead of the first official batch of Indian players, who left Mumbai on November 10 for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.

It is being said that the former Indian captain traveled earlier than his teammates and has already settled in Perth ahead of the team's preparations for the upcoming high-profile five-match Test series against Australia, starting on November 22 at the Optus Stadium.

The first batch, which includes key players like Shubman Gill, Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep, Washington Sundar, and Yashasvi Jaiswal, is currently en route via Singapore. Team India’s assistant coach, Abhishek Nayar, was also seen accompanying the young players.

A well-placed source was quoted as saying by the Times of India: “Virat Kohli left before the two batches and has already reached Perth. One batch of players is already on their way, and the second batch leaves today.”

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli was spotted at Mumbai airport in the late hours of Saturday (November 9), joined by his wife Anushka Sharma, and their children, Vamika and Akaay, as he left for Australia for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.

Virat Kohli irritated with selfie requests at Mumbai airport; requests media to avoid capturing Anushka Sharma and kids

Despite the excitement among the paparazzi to capture the family together, Kohli politely but firmly requested the paparazzi to respect his family’s privacy, asking them not to take photos of Anushka and their children.

As paparazzi swarmed him, Kohli politely requested them by asking, “Us taraf camera nahi karna” (Don’t take the camera on the other side), referring to his wife and kids.

In return, the dashing right-handed batter patiently clicked pictures with the fans and posed for the media while protecting his family’s space. A video of Kohli’s arrival at the airport showed his family stepping out of their car, with Anushka and the kids quickly entering the airport from the other end to avoid the cameras.

Kohli, dressed casually in a white t-shirt, light blue jeans, white sneakers, and a red cap, stayed behind briefly to pose for photos, maintaining his usual calm despite the heavy media presence. However, the constant demands for photos and selfies frustrated him a bit.

A visibly irked Virat said, “Udhar camera nahi karneka. Main 10 baar request kar raha hoon, uss taraf camera nahi karna,” after paparazzi tried to capture his family despite him dropping his bags in a corner and posing for the cameras for enough time.

Here's how Kohli handles paparazzi and protects family's privacy at the airport:

Notably, Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli are very specific about keeping their children, Vamika and Akaay, away from the public eye. Notably, the couple was blessed with their daughter Vamika on January 11, 2021, while they welcomed their son Akaay in February this year. They have both been kept out of the spotlight, with the couple choosing not to reveal their faces.

Well, all eyes will be on Kohli during the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, where the batting icon would love to return to beast mode that will be a must for India to boost their chances to record a hat-trick of Test series wins on the Australian soil.
