Coming back to Virat Kohli's tweet, no wonder he misses that dressing room - Jonathan Trott
Great victory for India at Edgbaston. Fearless and kept pushing England to the wall. Brilliantly led by Shubhman with the bat and in the field and impactful performances from everyone. Special mention to Siraj and Akash for the way they bowled on this pitch. 👏🇮🇳 @ShubmanGill…

Kohli has been quite active on social media in the last few days, and it looks like he closely followed the action in the second Test match between India and England at Edgbaston in Birmingham.
On Day 4 of the Test match, Kohli shared a special Instagram story for the 'star boy' Shubman Gill following his historic performance with the bat and On Day 5, he took to X to congratulate India on their first-ever Test win in Birmingham, giving special mention to Gill, Akash Deep and Mohammed Siraj.
Speaking of Kohli's recent social media activity, Jonathan Trott said that the legendary batter is missing being part of the Indian dressing room, and he would like to return and bat at No.3 or No.5.
"Coming back to Virat Kohli's tweet, no wonder he misses that dressing room feeling. I sometimes wonder how quickly that feeling comes back after you give up the game. Doesn’t he live in St. John’s Wood or nearby? Can he not be persuaded to come back?" Trott said while talking on the Sony Sports Network.
"I’m sure he would have liked No. 5 or 3," the former England cricketer said when he was told that the No. 4 slot is hard to break into after Shubman Gill's heroics.

Does Virat Kohli have Test comeback plans?
India's greatest Test captain, Virat Kohli, announced his retirement from the longest format of the game in May to rule him out of the India tour of England 2025.
On May 12, 2025, Virat Kohli took to his official Instagram handle to announce that he is stepping away from his favorite format in cricket.
Kohli finished his career with 123 Test matches in which he scored 9230 runs at an average of 46.85. He made a massive impact with his captaincy and made the Indian Test team one of the most dominant forces in world cricket.
Overall, he captained 68 Test matches, more than any Indian skipper, and won 40 and lost 17 games. His home record was exceptional as under his leadership India won all 11 home Test series.
Despite all his achievements and a lot of cricket left in him, Kohli reportedly has no plans to return to Test cricket. The legendary batsman has a young family and wants to spend time with them in London.
He plays in a very princely manner - Dinesh Karthik hails Shubman Gill
Speaking on Sky Sports, the former India wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik lauded the Shubman Gill-led side for the 336-run win at Edgbaston.
"That's quite the performance. We speak a lot about white-ball cricket, but you ask any cricketer who has played the longer format, the satisfaction you get when you fight for five days and get a result that is in your favour. There are not many better feelings in this world."
Dinesh Karthik added that Shubman Gill has played in a princely manner in the first two Tests and is mentally ready to take India forward. He said:
"India has this knack of giving cricketers names, and Gill is known as the prince. And he plays in a very princely manner. He is very sure of what he wants to do, but more importantly, he has looked the part mentally. He has batted the most consistently and managed to understand what he wants to bring to the table. For nine out of ten days of Test cricket, India have been the strong team."
