Star Indian batter Virat Kohli is set to make his long-awaited return to domestic cricket for Delhi in the upcoming Ranji Trophy 2024-25 match against Railways, starting on Thursday, January 30. According to the latest reports, the match is likely to be live-streamed for fans to watch his much-anticipated comeback.

The 36-year-old batter will play a Ranji Trophy match after more than 12 years. His last appearance in the premier domestic tournament was in 2012 during Delhi's match against Uttar Pradesh. The right-handed batter scored 14 and 42 runs across the two innings of the contest, which Delhi lost by 6 wickets to UP.

Virat Kohli's Ranji Trophy Return in Ranji Trophy Match Likely to Be Live-Streamed

The upcoming Ranji Trophy match is expected to be live-streamed or broadcast. Fans at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi will get a chance to see Kohli play at his home ground after a long time. The Ranji match will be available for fans to watch digitally, either through a live telecast or live stream.

"Good news for all Virat Kohli fans... things are heating up and we could see Delhi vs Railways being live-streamed. Only for Virat and the stature of that cricketer," sports journalist G. S. Vivek wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter).

The BCCI typically selects only three matches per round of the Ranji Trophy for telecast and broadcast, with the schedule for these matches decided in advance. However, Indian broadcasters are expected to live-stream the match between Delhi and Railways due to Virat Kohli's presence in the game.

Virat Kohli Begins Training with Delhi State Team on Tuesday

Virat Kohli started training with the Delhi state team on Tuesday ahead of his much-anticipated Ranji Trophy return. The 36-year-old cricketer arrived at the Arun Jaitley Stadium at 9 am, participated in a team huddle, did warm-up exercises, and played football for 15 minutes with his Delhi teammates.

Kohli appeared relaxed and was welcomed by his new teammates, many of whom are sharing the dressing room with him for the first time. The session was overseen by Delhi head coach Sarandeep Singh. Delhi is currently in sixth place in the Elite Group D points table and is unlikely to advance to the knockout stages.

The Delhi Police Will Receive a Letter From Us – DDCA Secretary on Security Arrangements

As Virat Kohli makes his return to domestic cricket at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) is increasing security measures. DDCA secretary Ashok Sharma stated that the Delhi Police would be notified, and private security has been ramped up to ensure smooth operations.

"The Delhi Police will receive a letter from us, we have enhanced our private security so we have initiated all these arrangements and we will attempt there is no inconvenience for the fans when they come on January 30 to see the match," Ashok Sharma was quoted as saying by PTI (via Hindustan Times).

"Gate numbers 7, 16 and 15 will be open. Whoever will come to watch will get to see Virat bat, they will see the ball move and we are fully ready to keep these three gates open."
