Virat Kohli's future in international cricket has become the talk of the town ever since he was dismissed in the second ODI of the ongoing three-match series between India and Australia.

After getting out for a duck in the series-opener, Virat Kohli failed to open his account in the second ODI as well. The former India skipper was dismissed for a four-ball duck by Xavier Bartlett as he registered back-to-back ducks for the first time in his illustrious ODI career.

Virat Kohli's failure overshadowed by his gesture

However, his failure with the bat was soon overshadowed by his gesture after the dismissal. While walking back towards the pavilion, Virat Kohli was seen acknowledging the fans by raising his gloves, an unusual sight after such a brief stay at the crease.

Many have interpreted the gesture as a farewell message from Virat Kohli. The batting stalwart has already retired from T20Is and Tests, and many believe that his days in ODI cricket are also numbered.

While Kohli's future is uncertain at the moment, his fan following continues to remain strong. As India landed in Sydney on Friday (October 24) for the third ODI, the batting star was mobbed by his fans at the airport. The fans thronged the arrival area for a glimpse of the veteran batsman. Kohli also obliged the fans with autographs and selfies.

Virat Kohli eyes a strong finish to the series

Virat Kohli will be keen to make amends with the bat in the upcoming third ODI. The right-hander has not scored a single run in the series and will be desperate to end the tour of Australia on a good note.

Team India will also be desperate to win the third ODI and avoid a whitewash. The Men in Blue have already conceded the series after losing the first two games and will be looking to end the series on a winning note. After the ODIs, India and Australia will lock horns against each other in a five-match T20I series.
