Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir and batter Virat Kohli joined hands for a candid conversation ahead of the first Test match against Bangladesh. Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli quipped about their on-field altercations and decided to put aside their differences to engage with Indian fans.
Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli shared the dressing room for the Delhi state team. The duo also played together for the India national cricket team in international cricket. They played 15 Tests, 68 ODIs, and 14 T20Is together. Notably, Kohli opened with Gambhir in his first international game.
You Scored Heaps And Heaps Of Runs - Gautam Gambhir
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) organized an unfiltered chat between Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli. The duo has buried their differences since Gambhir was appointed India's head coach. The BCCI shared a teaser of their conversation, and the video has gone viral.
In a 100-second clip, the duo watched their crucial 83-run partnership in the 2011 World Cup final. Gambhir then praised Kohli's exceptional 2014-15 series in Australia. The Indian team head coach compared it to his own memorable 137-run innings against New Zealand in Napier in 2009.
“I remember when you had that bumper series in Australia where you scored heaps and heaps of runs and that got you in that zone. And for me, it was exactly the same when I played in Napier,” Gambhir said.
"And if I look back, can I bat for another two and a half days? (137 off 436 balls) I don't think so. I could have ever done that again and I have never been in that zone ever in my life after that. So I can imagine ho good that feeling is to be in that zone. And I’m sure you must have experienced this many more times as compared to what I have."

Koi Meri Baat Se Agree Kar Jaye - Virat Kohli
Kohli hinted that they were ready to clear up any misconceptions about their relationship. Gambhir said that Kohli had more altercations than him on the field.
"When you are batting and you have a bit of a chat with the opposition, did you ever feel like this might carry on to you going out of the zone and potentially getting out, or it put you in a more motivated state?" Kohli said.
"You have had more altercations than I have. I think you can answer that question, better than I can," Gambhir stated.
"Main to ye dhund raha hun ki koi meri baat se agree kar jaye. Ye nahi bol raha ki galat hai. Koi to bole haan, yahi hota hai (I am only looking for someone who agrees with what I have to say. Not saying that it is wrong. At least someone should say, yes this is what happens)," Kohli replied (laughing).
