The Netherlands cricket team shared admiration for former Indian skipper Virat Kohli before their match against the Men in Blue in the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023. Netherlands captain Scott Edwards emphasized Kohli’s consistency and effectiveness in cricket.

Virat Kohli has been in good form in the World Cup 2023, having scored 543 runs in eight matches with an impressive average of 108.6 and a strike rate of 88.29. He has hit four fifties and two centuries. He is the leading run-scorer for his team in the marquee tournament.

The Delhi-born cricketer achieved his 49th ODI century in the recent match against South Africa at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on November 5. The batter equaled the legendary Sachin Tendulkar’s record for the most centuries in international cricket in the 50-over format.

Virat Kohli Has Been So Consistent Throughout The Years – Scott Edwards

In a video uploaded by Star Sports on X (formerly known as Twitter), Scott Edwards and other players praised Kohli, acknowledging him as a pivotal wicket. Edwards emphasized the importance of dismissing him early, especially when defending a score.

“Virat Kohli obviously, he’s someone that’s a massive wicket. It’s a poetry in motion, that’s what I always think, so yeah, it’s good. Especially when you’re defending a total, I think he’s been so consistent throughout the years for India and you’ve got to get him out early,” Edwards told Star Sports.

Who Doesn’t Love Virat Kohli? – Vikramjit Singh

Netherlands opener Max O’Dowd hailed Kohli as possibly the greatest of all time, stating that many players admire him. Indian-origin Dutch batter Vikramjit Singh echoed the statement, expressing universal admiration for Virat.

“Virat Kohli is arguably the greatest of all time, a lot of guys look up to him” said Max O’Dowd.

“Who doesn’t love Virat Kohli? Everyone loves Virat Kohli,” added Vikramjit Singh.

The Rohit Sharma-led team will face the Netherlands in their final league-stage match at Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Sunday, November 12. India has already secured a place in the semifinals, while the Dutch team is aiming for a top-eight finish in the table.
