Virat Kohli rises in ICC ODI Rankings after destroying Pakistan, 4 Indians in top 10

India's star cricketer Virat Kohli has gained significant points after he struck a brilliant hundred against Pakistan in the Champions Trophy 2025 in Dubai. The 36-year-old has moved back to the top five in the ICC ODI Rankings for batters.

Virat Kohli was rewarded for his magnificent century against Pakistan which helped India thrash Pakistan in Dubai. He struck an unbeaten 100 off 111 balls and also hit the winning runs for a perfect end to the match for India.

Virat Kohli moves up in ICC ODI Rankings

After the hundred against Pakistan, Kohli has been crowned as the No. 5 batter in the latest ICC ODI Rankings for Men's batters with 743 rating points.

Kohli was placed at No. 6 before the game but has gained some crucial points to go past New Zealand's Daryl Mitchell, who has moved down one to No. 6 in the rankings with 717 points.

Three Indian batters in top five

Virat Kohli's rise to No. 5 means that India has a total of three batters among the top five batters in the ICC ODI Rankings now. Young opener Shubman Gill keeps his No. 1 spot in the rankings with 817 rating points. Gill is the only player with more than 800 points currently.

Apart from Gill, his opening partner and India's captain Rohit Sharma is third in the list with 757 points. The second spot is occupied by Pakistan's star batter Babar Azam, who has been going through tough times recently but has been able to be in the top two.

South Africa's Heinrich Klaasen is at the fourth spot with 749 rating points. Klaasen missed South Africa's first match of the tournament against Afghanistan due to injury but will be key in the upcoming games.

Virat Kohli takes India to brilliant win

Virat Kohli played a magnificent knock at Dubai to announce his return to form and also take India to a dominating win over the arch-rivals Pakistan.

Kohli came in to bat when India needed him to bat deep and stay at one end. He showed intent right from the first b all and looked to attack the bad balls.

However, he took his time against the spinners and didn't take any risks against the legspinner Abrar Ahmed. Abrar tried to provoke Kohli but the experienced batter ensured to keep his composure and kept ticking the game along with him.

The 36-year-old took singles and doubles consistently and didn't allow the required run rate climb up. With two needed to win, Kohli smashed a four through the covers to take India to a memorable win and also completed his century.

It was his 51st ODI hundred and another match-winning knock against Pakistan. Over the course of his career, Kohli has cherished playing against the Men in Green and he maintained his fine record over the opposition.
