Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are all set to join the India National Cricket Team sooner than expected ahead of their much-awaited return to action. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were both last seen in action for India during their triumphant ICC Champions Trophy 2025 campaign in March 2025.

They were also impressive in the IPL 2025 for their respective teams, and even Kohli won the maiden trophy with the RCB. They were also preparing for the England tour, but suddenly announced their retirements from Test cricket just before the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy.

Well, both Virat and Rohit were named in the ODI squad for the three-match series in Australia, and they have to prove they are still two of the greatest batters in the format to continue in contention for the mega event. The Men in Blue will play a total of 27 ODIs before the ICC World Cup 2027.

Amidst uncertainties over how many games the former Indian captain will get before the global event, good news emerged ahead of the second and final Test against the West Indies, starting on October 10 at the Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium in Delhi.

Actually, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will join the national squad in Delhi ahead of India’s highly anticipated tour of Australia later this month. Newly appointed ODI vice-captain Shreyas Iyer will also join his former captains in the national capital.

The Indian squad is scheduled to depart in two batches on October 15, with one group flying in the morning and the other in the evening, depending on travel logistics and ticket availability.

Kohli and Rohit are expected to arrive in New Delhi either a day before departure or on the same day. India will first land in Perth to kick off a three-match ODI series against Australia on October 19, followed by a five-match T20I series.
