India National Cricket Team batting legend Virat Kohli is closing in on Shubman Gill for the No.1 position in the latest ICC ODI batting rankings after his record-breaking century against West Indies.
Kohli has moved to the second spot with 796 rating points, just 20 behind Gill's 816. His 139* in the first ODI helped him climb one spot, while Gill retained the top position after scoring 110.

Kohli's rise has pushed Daryl Mitchell to third with 794 points. Rohit Sharma remains fourth with 753, while Ibrahim Zadran occupies fifth with 719.
Babar Azam is sixth on 689 points, followed by Kusal Mendis at 674. Shai Hope is eighth with 664, while Joe Root and Harry Tector complete the top 10 with 660 and 653 points respectively.
With only 20 points separating Kohli and Gill, the ongoing West Indies ODI series could have a major bearing on the battle for the top spot.
