India’s batting superstar Virat Kohli has returned to Delhi to join the national squad ahead of the upcoming white-ball tour of Australia. Virat Kohli returned to India after four months, as he was spotted at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport on Tuesday (October 14) morning.
Kohli had spent the past four months in London with his family after helping the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) to lift their maiden IPL 2025 title in June.

Now, the former Indian captain is set to return to national duty after being named in India’s ODI squad for the Australia tour. Apart from Kohli, Rohit Sharma has been named in the ODI squad for the upcoming series in Australia.
The upcoming three-match ODI series between India and Australia will mark Rohit and Kohli’s return to international cricket since the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 triumph earlier this year.
Both Indian batting icons have retired from Test and T20I cricket, and now they focus solely on ODI cricket. Kohli and Rohit’s comeback comes at a crucial stage in their careers, amid ongoing discussions about their future in the Indian cricket team.
Kohli spotted in Delhi, skips selfies and paparazzi
Meanwhile, the Indian ODI squad is set to depart for Australia on October 15 in two batches, depending on the availability of business-class tickets.
As the Australia-trip-bound players remain in Delhi after the conclusion of the two-match Test series against the West Indies on Tuesday, the rest of the players picked for the ODI series are asked to join the team in the national capital.
And Kohli already arrived in Delhi to join the Indian team. In the several viral videos and photos, the dashing right-handed batter was spotted in a black casual shirt paired with cream-colored trousers, making his way to the black car.
Surprisingly, Kohli refused to pose for the paparazzi and quietly moved inside the car. The former Indian captain also ignored selfies with the fans and media.

Well, Virat Kohli has always enjoyed batting in Australia, loving the bounce of the pitches, the chance to play attacking shots, and the challenges the conditions present.
Over his ODI career in Australia since 2012, he has played 29 matches, scoring 1,327 runs at an average of 51.03, including five centuries. However, Virat has a total of 2451 runs in the 50 ODIs that he has played in Australia so far.

However, reports suggest that Kohli’s place in the Indian ODI team could be at risk if he doesn’t perform well in the upcoming series against Australia, as selectors have decided that future selections will be based purely on current form and performance.
Even though Kohli is widely regarded as one of India’s greatest ODI batters, he will be approaching 40 by the time the ICC World Cup 2027 arrives, posing him numerous challenges. However, Indian captain Shubman Gill and coach Gautam Gambhir backed Rohit and Kohli’s skills and experience.
While Gill has publicly said that the Men in Blue will need both captains in the ICC World Cup 2027, Gambhir and chief selector Ajit Agarkar refused to commit to anything, at least for now.
