Virat Kohli-starrer RCB's comeback feature in Gautam Gambhir's favorite IPL 2024 moments list

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) mentor Gautam Gambhir talked about the three best moments from the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Among his favorite moments, six straight wins from Royal Challengers Bengaluru was one. 

Under the mentorship of Gautam Gambhir, Kolkata Knight Riders won their third-ever title in the league. The former skipper of the franchise was one of the major factors behind the team winning the tournament and that too dominantly. 

Gautam Gambhir was roped in ahead of the IPL 2024 and the move paid off incredibly well and the team won the tournament. The KKR mentor instilled a fearless attitude in the players and made them express themselves, which resulted in great things. They won 9 games in the league stage and then won one-sided in the playoffs.

However, apart from guiding Kolkata Knight Riders to the win, Gautam Gambhir had other favorite moments as well in the tournament. Apart from RCB’s comeback, he named Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma’s partnership and Mayank Yadav’s spell as the top three moments. Speaking to Sportskeeda, he explained:

"Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma's opening partnership, Mayank Yadav's spell & RCB's comeback of six consecutive wins."

For the unversed, the opening duo of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma were the most destructive pair in the IPL. The Sunrisers Hyderabad opening batters wreaked havoc across the bowlers with their sensational partnership in the league. 

Mayank Yadav on the other hand in the two games against Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru troubled the batters with his pace. He consistently clicked 155 kmph and grabbed the eyeball of many. He picked three wickets in both games and changed the complexion of the game. Based on his spell, Lucknow Super Giants won the game from a losing position.

On the other hand, RCB had just one win in their 8 games. They were reeling at the bottom of the table. However, after that, they won 6 games on the trot and claimed the spot in the playoffs before losing in Eliminator against Rajasthan Royals.

“My relation with Virat Kohli is something this country doesn't need to know”- Gautam Gambhir 

Gautam Gambhir also talked about his relationship with Virat Kohli. He said that the relationship between them is not for the country to know. He elaborated:

"The perception is far away from the reality. My relationship with Virat Kohli is something this country doesn't need to know. He has as much right as I do to express himself and help our respective teams win. Our relation is not to give masala to public."

Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli in the past have had some heated exchanges on the field in the past. However, the duo hugged each other in the IPL 2024  during a strategic timeout in a game between RCB and KKR. This settled a lot of rumors about their relationship with each other.
