RCB veteran Virat Kohli is often referred to as one of the most unique characters on the field of cricket. During a training session, the Indian legend teased the West Indian all-rounder Romario Shepherd by hilariously imitating his batting style.

RCB won their first-ever trophy in IPL 2025, ending their 18-year-long drought in the competition. Despite limited success for the Challengers, Kohli never backed down from being the very best in the format, as well as the IPL.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru manifested a very special team for the 2025 edition of the competition, as they brought in several big names. They will continue with the same XI and their likely strength in this season as well.

Virat Kohli hilariously imitates RCB teammate during training session

The bond has been strengthening between the RCB players, and it is evident from their training sessions. Virat Kohli, the senior-most cricketer in the camp, has always been known as one of the most entertaining characters both on and off the field.

Virat Kohli, during one of RCB's recent net sessions, was seen imitating teammate Romario Shepherd. The West Indies all-rounder's natural style of crouching low to get a free swing of the bat was imitated neatly by the Challengers veteran.

Several other players who noticed him in the nets imitating Shepherd rolled out with laughter. The video went viral on social media platforms, and Virat Kohli's liveliness has once again been praised.

Virat Kohli's promising start to IPL 2026

Indian batter Virat Kohli has retired from two formats of International cricket, the Tests and the T20Is. He continues to play in the ODIs for India and has shown supreme form. He scored three centuries in the last six games for India and also scored two match-winning half-centuries.

Following his sheer form in international cricket, Kohli also continued his form domestically, where he returned to the Vijay Hazare Trophy for Delhi. The legendary batter had finished the IPL 2025 campaign on a high note with 650+ runs and started IPL 2026 from where he left off the last time.

In the opening clash against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, he amassed 69 runs off just 38 balls, and with the unbeaten knock, he helped RCB to the first win of the season. Kohli batted with a stunning strike rate of 181.58, finishing with five fours and sixes.

Defending champions RCB resume winning streak in 2026

The Royal Challengers Bangalore finished second on the IPL points table in 2025 and then did not lose a single knockout game. They won Qualifier 1 against the Punjab Kings and then the final against the same opposition.

Jacob Duffy functioned as the best bowler on show after the New Zealand paceman was picked as Josh Hazlewood's replacement. Romario Shepherd also picked up three wickets; however, he gave away 54 runs in his spell of four overs.

Following the first innings, RCB had to chase down 202 runs. Kohli was unbeaten till the very end, making significant contributions. Devdutt Padikkal also scored 61 useful runs and led the chase for the Challengers before skipper Rajat Patidar also helped the chase, batting at a strike rate of 250. They resumed their winning streak from the first game.
