Indian National Cricket Team superstar Virat Kohli is all set to undergo a round of fitness tests at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru next month in September. These tests are done once every year for all contracted Indian players.
These series of tests are not just about running or gym work, but the players go through blood tests, urine tests, bone scans, concussion checks, and even eyesight exams. The reason behind these tests is to make sure every cricketer is fully fit and ready for the challenges at the highest level.

A Revsportz journalist Rohit Juglan revealed on his YouTube channel what happens in the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence for two days. He claimed, "My sources revealed that there are N number of tests, including blood tests, urine tests, and DEXA tests. There is also a concussion test and even an eyesight test. The Indian players will undergo every kind of test once a year.

Until and unless the player gets injured in between and comes back to some kind of rehab, then their fitness will also be assessed. But overall, these tests will be done once a year to all the contracted players. And Virat Kohli will also come soon to undergo the tests in Bengaluru.”
Virat Kohli’s fitness to be assessed before India squad selection for Australia tour
Virat Kohli, who has always been known for his high fitness standards, will have to go through this process before the selectors pick the India squad for the upcoming Australia tour. India is all set to play a three-match T20I and ODI series in Australia later this year.
The journalist further revealed that the Indian selectors will select the team for the Australia tour in September. So, “Virat Kohli will also be present there.” He added that if Virat Kohli wants to play, then “obviously he will have to undergo these tests,” as quoted by sources.

Meanwhile, the craze for the India vs Australia series has reached a new level in Australia even before the series begins. Fan zones made specially for Indian fans have been sold out nearly two months in advance, showing just how big the demand is for the series, which is said to be Kohli and Rohit’s last ODI assignment.
