Indian batter Virat Kohli brought a special vibe and energy ahead of the three-match ODI series against Australia, set to begin on October 19. The veteran batter, who is returning to the blue jersey after a long time, was seen warming up with the squad and pulled off a hilarious act during India’s training session.
Kohli is set to make his much-awaited comeback to international cricket after a seven-month break. He last played for India in the Champions Trophy 2025 final. The former skipper trained in England to regain full match readiness before joining the Indian squad in Delhi ahead of their departure for the Australia tour.

Virat Kohli stole the spotlight during India’s practice session at the Optus Stadium in Perth. The 36-year-old was in a playful mood, sharing laughs with teammates like Arshdeep Singh, KL Rahul, Axar Patel, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Dhruv Jurel.
In a video shared by Star Sports on X (formerly known as Twitter), Kohli once again showcased the fun side of his personality. The veteran batter mimicked others while the team trained under Gautam Gambhir and T. Dilip ahead of the first ODI clash.

Kohli will be looking to make an impact against Australia’s formidable bowling lineup, which is likely to challenge him, especially during the early stages of his innings.
Virat Kohli Continues in ODI Cricket Following Test and T20I Retirement
Virat Kohli has already retired from T20Is and Tests. He will feature for India only in the ODI format. The batter was the second-highest run-scorer during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, scoring 218 runs in five matches.
Kohli scored a century against arch-rivals Pakistan and a composed 84-run knock in the semifinal against Australia. The Men in Blue went on to clinch the continental trophy unbeaten.
Over the years, Kohli has consistently delivered match-winning performances in Australia. He has scored 1,327 runs in 29 ODIs at an average of 51.03, including five centuries and six half-centuries, with his best score being an unbeaten 133 at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart.

Australian opener Travis Head opened up about the return of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma to international cricket after a seven-month hiatus. He called Kohli the greatest white-ball player, adding that Rohit is not far behind.
“Virat is probably the greatest white-ball player. Rohit is probably not far behind," Head told the media.
The Delhi-born cricketer needs just 54 runs to surpass Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara (14,234) and become the second-highest run-scorer in One-Day Internationals. He reached 14,000 ODI runs in just 287 innings, the fastest ever. Sachin Tendulkar leads the list with 18,426 runs to his name in the format.
