The cricket world once again witnessed a magical moment as the Rajasthan Royals’ (RR) teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi continued his dream run in the ongoing IPL 2026. The 15-year-old left everyone stunned after another explosive innings and got a special message from Virat Kohli.
In the 16th IPL 2026 match at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati, fans got the full entertainment show as Vaibhav Sooryavanshi played another dreamy knock to help Rajasthan Royals dominate a high-pressure chase against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on April 10.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi creates magic again in IPL 2026
All eyes were on Vaibhav, as he has already played fearless cricket and targeted some of the best bowlers in the league. Many were eager to see how he would tackle experienced bowlers like Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, but he once again proved why he is being called the future superstar of Indian cricket.
The left-handed batter showed unbelievable consistency at such a young age as he played another breathtaking knock of 78 runs in just 26 balls, smashing the ball all around the ground with complete confidence for 8 boundaries and 7 sixes against RCB. He reached his half-century in just 15 balls.
Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar left helpless by Vaibhav Sooryavanshi
Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar had no answers for the RR opener’s aggressive approach in the powerplay. Vaibhav attacked from the start and never allowed the RCB bowling unit to make a comeback, making the 202-run chase look very easy for Rajasthan.
His remarkable efforts and Dhruv Jurel’s unbeaten 81 helped RR chase down the target with six wickets in hand and 12 balls to spare against the defending champions in Guwahati. The RR team remained unbeaten with their fourth win in a row, while RCB suffered their first defeat of this season.
This knock helped Vaibhav clinch the Orange Cap, surpassing his own RR teammate Yashasvi Jaiswal in the race for being the leading run scorer in the ongoing IPL 2026. The Bihar lad has so far scored 200 runs in four matches, with two half-centuries and a stunning strike rate of over 260.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi gets special praise from Virat Kohli
After the thrilling match, a special moment stole the show in Guwahati when RCB icon Virat Kohli interacted with the young batter. Kohli appreciated Vaibhav’s fearless performance during the customary handshake, and then he even left a warm handwritten message for the teenage star.
Kohli signed Vaibhav’s RR cap and wrote a special four-word message that reads, "Dear Vaibhav, Well Done,” encouraging him after his blistering innings. This gesture from the Indian batting superstar quickly went viral across the social media platforms.

Riyan Parag shares how RR is supporting Vaibhav Sooryavanshi
After the match, RR captain Riyan Parag also showered rich praise on his young opener. Parag said at the post-match presentation: “I think everyone loves him. Everyone loves having him around. He likes eating stuff. He likes going out and stuff like that.”
He added, “So we make sure we make that available for him. And he's a 16-year-old kid, a 15-year-old, whatever it is. Yeah, doing kiddish things. And he's happy with that. He likes a lot of batting. So, we make sure it is presented to him. And if he keeps on batting like that, I think whatever he wants.”
