Virat Kohli's former RCB teammate and South African speedster Wayne Parnell opined to form a World XI comprising 3 big names from both India and Pakistan, while the South African all-rounder neglected several of his own countrymen.

Picking the best XI in their opinion has been the recent trendiest thing to do for cricketers whenever they visit podcasts or make appearances outside the cricket field. South African cricketer Wayne Parnell has also made a similar choice of 11 players.

Wayne, the 36-year-old cricketer, is no longer seen in international cricket for South Africa and was recently seen in the World Championship of Legends, where he was part of the South Africa Champions who won the second edition of the tournament.

Wayne Parnell sidelines Jacques Kallis to pick former RCB teammate Virat Kohli as his no. 3

When asked to pick a World all-time ODI XI, South African pace bowling all-rounder Wayne Parnell started off with the most promising name in World cricket, Sachin Tendulkar. The legend is in the books of every cricketer.

He paired Tendulkar alongside former South African veteran Hashim Amla, the batter who wreaked havoc for South Africa during his brief yet devastating stint in world cricket for South Africa.

However, the most surprising pick came in at no. 3 when the former RCB player picked Virat Kohli at no. 3 and sidelined former Protea legend Jacques Kallis. Virat Kohli undoubtedly deserves a place in the World ODI XI; however, Kallis can never be neglected, especially by a South African himself.

Kallis has a never-ending legacy in World cricket for South Africa; with 25000+ international runs and nearly 600 wickets across all three formats he has played in.

Parnell's XI is shocking - Excludes legendary Australian

Parnell's XI was full of surprises, as slowly it turned out to be major shocks. He picked AB de Villiers, one of the most talismanic middle-order batters in ODI cricket, but next sidelined former Australian skipper Ricky Ponting.

He instead opted for Australian Mike Hussey in the squad, while next moving to Shahid Afridi, the former Pakistani skipper, as the only all-rounder in his team. Wayne didn't look at options like Kallis and the Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh.

MS Dhoni, the veteran Indian skipper, was picked as the skipper and wicket-keeper of the side, while the likes of Wasim Akram, Brett Lee, and Waqar Younis featured as his pace bowling trio.

He once again ignored countrymen like Shaun Pollock, Dale Steyn, Kagiso Rabada, and Morne Morkel, and lastly went on to pick Muttiah Muralitharan as the only spinner in the side.

World XI as picked by Wayne Parnell

Wayne Parnell picked a very unique set of players in his all-time best World ODI XI, which includes three Indian and three Pakistani cricketers, alongside 2 Aussies and 2 Proteas.

ALL-Time ODI XI: Sachin Tendulkar, Hashim Amla, Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Mike Hussey, Shahid Afridi, MS Dhoni (C), Wasim Akram, Brett Lee, Muttiah Muralitharan, and Waqar Younis.
