Former Team India opener Virender Sehwag criticized Glenn Maxwell and Liam Livingstone for their lackluster performances in IPL 2025. The cricketer-turned-commentator said that Maxwell and Livingstone have no hunger to perform for their team and guide them to victories in the T20 tournament.

He had a promising start, with an unbeaten 15 in the opening match against Kolkata Knight Riders and a half-century against Gujarat Titans in the third game. However, he has struggled since, managing only 87 runs in seven matches and taking two wickets.

On the other hand, Glenn Maxwell is enduring a tough season with the bat in IPL 2025. He has registered just one double-digit score throughout the tournament, with his best performance being 30 off 21 balls against the Rajasthan Royals.

He was dismissed for seven runs against the Kolkata Knight Riders. There have been calls for Maxwell to change his approach in order to regain his batting consistency.

They Come Here to Celebrate the Holidays and Leave - Virender Sehwag Slams Foreign Players

Speaking to Cricbuzz ahead of the match, Virender Sehwag said that Glenn Maxwell and Liam Livingstone treat the IPL as more of a holiday rather than a serious competition. Sehwag said that he doesn't see the hunger in Maxwell and Livingstone.

"I think their hunger has been satiated. Maxwell and Livingston's hunger has been satiated. That's why they come here to celebrate the holidays. They come here to celebrate the holidays and leave after celebrating the holidays. Because they don't even feel that they have to win their team. I have to do something," Virender Sehwag said.

"If I don't win the trophy, I have to contribute. With whom I have spent time, I have spent time with a lot of foreign players. I felt that they wanted to win. I don't see that in Maxwell and Livingstone. They want to win the trophy. They just talk and leave. There is no performance," he added.

To Practice for His Tour, He Needed Turning Wickets - Virender Sehwag on David Miller

Virender Sehwag also took a dig at his former teammate, David Miller. Sehwag shared an anecdote about how Miller wanted to prepare for South Africa's tour while playing for Punjab. The former cricketer said that Miller focused on simulating the conditions he expected to face during the tour.

"David Miller was with us in Punjab. He used to practice in Punjab. When he used to practice in Punjab, he used to get a turning track made. That I have to practice. Because South Africa's tour is coming. To practice for his tour, he needed turning wickets." Sehwag said.

"He needed spinners to bowl. He was practicing thinking that when the next South Africa-India tour comes, I have to play on these wickets. So, I have to bat on the turning track."
