Wanindu Hasaranga Bought By Rajasthan Royals For INR 5.25 crore at IPL Auction 2025

Sri Lanka star Wanindu Hasaranga has registered himself for the IPL 2025 mega auction at the base price of INR 2 crore. The former Sri Lanka captain is one of the most sought-after T20 spinners in the world and is expected to attract several teams in the auction.

He has a stunning record in T20Is. Hasaranga is already Sri Lanka's all-time leading wicket-taker. In 76 T20Is, the leg-spinner has picked up 125 wickets. He is also a handy batsman and has scored over 700 runs including two fifties in the shortest format of the game.

Hasaranga is not new to IPL either. He played for Royal Challengers Bengaluru from 2021 to 2023. In three seasons, he picked up 35 wickets for the Bengaluru-based outfit. Ahead of IPL 2024, he was signed up by Sunrisers Hyderabad. However, he could not play any game in the last season of the IPL due to a heel injury.
