Sanju Samson is shining in KCL for Kochi Blue Tigers
Samson is playing for the Kochi Blue Tigers in KCL 2025 as he was bought by the franchise for a record auction price of Rs 26.80 lakh.
The Kerala star, who prefers to play in the top order, slotted himself in the middle order in the first two matches of the competition, scoring just 13 runs off 22 balls in the second game after not getting an opportunity to bat in the first game.
After that, Samson decided to return to his original opening position and played an exceptional knock of 121 runs to help his team chase down a colossal score.
He continued his red-hot form in the subsequent game against Thrissur Titans at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday and blasted 89 runs off 46 balls with the help of 4 fours and 9 sixes.
During his innings, Sanju Samson did the unthinkable by smashing 13 runs off one ball. In the fifth over, Samson smashed Sijomon Joseph for a six on the fourth ball, and it was found to be a no-ball as the bowler overstepped.
Then, Samson made the most of the free hit and slammed a massive six, registering 13 runs off one ball. His innings was brought to an end by Ajinas K in the 18th over as he missed out on a ton.

Samson has put pressure on India's T20I vice-captain Shubman Gill with his explosive knocks in KCL. Notably, the BCCI chief selector Ajit Agarkar had stated that Samson and Gill would be fighting for a place as the second opener in India's playing XI in the Asia Cup 2025, with Abhishek Sharma being the first-choice.
Sanju Samson has been India's first-choice opener and wicketkeeper-batsman in T20Is since Gautam Gambhir took charge, and he has played some remarkable innings, but in the previous series against England, he struggled against short balls.

I think we have very good side - Virender Sehwag
Recently, the legendary Indian batter Virender Sehwag predicted that the Suryakumar Yadav-led side will win the Asia Cup 2025.
“We are world champions. We just won the World Cup, T20 World Cup and I am sure that we are the best team in the Asia Cup and hopefully we will win the Asia Cup," Sehwag was quoted as saying in an exclusive chat with the official broadcaster of Asia Cup 2025, Sony Sports Network.
“I think we have very good side and SKY is leading from the front and he’s a top player in T20 format. I’m sure that under his captaincy, we will do well because we’ve seen in the past when SKY has taken over, we won lot of T20 games and I’m sure that we will win Asia Cup also," Sehwag remarked.
