Shubman Gill continued his golden touch with the bat as he played yet another vital hand for his team. The Indian vice-captain, who slammed a century in the last game, took the India National Cricket Team off to a great start in a chase of 242 runs against the Pakistan National Cricket Team.

He added 31 runs for the opening partnership with Rohit Sharma, who scored 20 runs off 15 balls.

Shubman Gill was looking all set for another big innings but his stay at the crease was cut short by the brilliance of Abrar Ahmed. The mystery spinner produced a peach of a delivery and the batter had no clue to it.

Abrar Ahmed bowled a carrom ball, which was sharp, and squared the batter up. Shubman Gill got beaten by the ripper as he stepped back to play but missed it completely and went on to disturb the stumps.

Shubman Gill, who is the No.1 ranked batter in the ODIs, has been in red-hot form in the format. In the last five innings, he has slammed two centuries and two fifties. His scores read: 87(96), 60(52), 112(102), 101*(129), 46(52).

The onus now will be on Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer to take India home. While the former has slammed a magnificent half-century and is looking set for a ton, Iyer has looked decent. The duo would want to carry on and take Men in Blue to the second consecutive win in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
