Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) batter Aiden Markram didn't have the kind of outing he would've wanted with the bat in the ongoing game against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala is hosting the game between the teams.
Chasing the target of 237 runs, Lucknow Super Giants openers in Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram were tested a lot by the Punjab Kings pacer Arshdeep Singh. The left-arm pacer swung the ball both ways as he troubled the batters with his impeccable lines and lengths.
Arshdeep Singh takes Punjab Kings off to a flyer with wickets of Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram in one over
Arshdeep Singh was unlucky in the first over that he bowled as the ball missed the outside edge of the bat quite a few times. However, in the second over, he made sure that he took his team off to a flying start with the ball.
Arshdeep first removed Mitchell Marsh early in the over, and it was expected that Aiden Markram would hold up the one end and play another brilliant innings. But that wasn't the case as Punjab Kings pacer got better off him as well on the 5th ball of the over.
Arshdeep Singh bowled a back-of-a-length delivery outside off. He offered the width as Aiden Markram went on the back foot to cut. However, he was undone by the extra bit of bounce as he got the thick inside edge, and the ball went on to hit the middle stump.
What caught the attention of many was the reaction of Aiden Markram after he got out. The South Africa National Cricket Team batter was absolutely furious as he almost hit the ball in frustration after he saw his stumps getting shattered.

Aiden Markram couldn't make a bigger impact with the bat, scores 13 runs off 10 balls
Aiden Markram couldn't make a bigger impact with the bat as he was back in the hut after scoring 13 runs off 10 balls. The right-hander batted with a strike rate of around 130 and also slammed one boundary and one six during his stay at the crease.
Arshdeep Singh's golden run with the ball continued in the game as after removing Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram, he also went on to send Nicholas Pooran packing. The pacer trapped the batter in lbw and put his team in a dominating position in the game.
With the way they have bowled, Punjab Kings look favourites to win. The victory here will take them second on the points table while a loss for Lucknow Super Giants will dent their chances to qualify for the playoffs of the tournament.
