Watch: Angered By Controversial Dismissal, Furious Baba Aparajith Fights With Umpire And Opposition Players

Tamil Nadu star Baba Aparajith lost his cool after his controversial dismissal during a recent Tamil Nadu Cricket Association Division 1 fixture. The right-handed batsman was involved in a furious exchange with the umpire as well as the opposition players after his contentious dismissal.

Baba Aparajith is plying his trade for Young Stars Cricket Club in the competition. The incident took place when Young Stars Cricket Club were playing against Jolly Rovers CC. The Young Stars were in a spot of bother after being reduced to 32 for 2 while chasing 164 when Baba Aparajith walked out to bat and join Sai Sudharsan in the middle.

He and Sai quickly steadied the ship for the Young Stars. They took the score past the 50-run mark but before they could bat their team to a strong position, Baba Aparajith was given out in a controversial manner. He was batting on 32 at that stage and his partnership with Sai was worth 40 runs.

Aparajith was adjudged out by the on-field umpire after a delivery by opposition skipper B Hari Nishanth turned heavily and resulted in an appeal. There was a lot of confusion as it looked like the batter was struck on the pads, but the fielder at short leg also claimed the catch.

Baba Aparajith loses his cool:

As soon as the umpire raised his finger to adjudge Baba Aparajith out, the batter lost his cool and did not shy away from venting his frustration and anger. Talking about the dismissal, the Jolly Rovers CC spinner bowled one on the leg and Baba Aparajith wanted to tuck it on the leg side.

However, the batsman failed to keep the ball grounded and the fielder at short leg dived in front to take the catch. The fielders appealed for a catch and the umpire had no hesitation in raising his finger. But as he gave his decision in favor of the bowler, Baba Aparajith was not impressed at all. At first, he expressed his shock with an animated reaction.

After that, the batsman proceeded to tell the umpire that the ball had bounced before the fielder caught it. The umpires then had a conversation as the batter refused to walk out of the field. Later, he was also involved in a heated exchange with an opposition player before eventually walking off.
