Watch- Another humiliation for Pakistan Cricket as Usama Mir hits the stumps with his bat and gets out in The Hundred
Pakistan cricketer Usama Mir was dismissed unusually in the match between Southern Brave and Manchester Originals played at The Rose Bowl, Southampton in The Hundred 2024. It was the second match of the double-header day on August 1, 2024.
It was the last ball of the first innings of the match when Manchester Originals were batting. Usama Mir was on strike and he was looking good with already two fours to his name in his first 6 balls.
Mir got a full ball outside off stump. He was already on the back foot and tried to jam his bat down to hit the ball straight.
But the batter was so deep in his crease that he ended up hitting the bat on the bails with the bottom of his bat as the ball went through to the wicketkeeper. As a result, the bails were dislodged and he was given out hit-wicket.

Southern Brave keep Manchester Originals winless this season
Earlier, Souther Brave won the toss and put Manchester Originals to bat first. Craig Overton got the big wicket of skipper Phil Salt early to rock the Originals. They were reduced to 41-4 at one stage but Craig Overton's brother Jamie Overton played a quick cameo of 25 off 19 balls to get the innings back on track.
Wayne Madsen held one end as Manchester Originals ended up at 116-6 in 100 balls. Madsen remained unbeaten on 43 off 37 balls. Craig Overton had a fantastic day with the ball and finished with 2-11 in 20 balls. Tymal Mills and Chris Jordan also picked up two wickets each for Southern Brave.
Chasing 117 to win, Southern Brave were quick off the blocks as Alex Davies raced to 24 runs off 12 balls. They lost the wickets of James Vince and Leus du Plooy in quick succession but Laurie Evans and James Coles ensured that they reached the target without any further damage.
In the end, the target wasn't big enough to trouble the Southern Brave batters as they reached the target in 78 balls with 7 wickets in hand. Left-arm spinner Tom Hartley, legspinner Usama Mir, and pacer Scott Currie picked up a wicket for Manchester Originals.
The win ensured Southern Brave moved up to the third spot in the points table with 2 wins and 1 defeat. On the other hand, Manchester Originals are still without a win to their name this season and remain at the bottom of the points table.
