Jasprit Bumrah shows arrogance

The incident involving Bumrah and Manohar happened in the 19th over of the first innings. On the first ball of the over, Jasprit Bumrah bowled a 135.9kph high full-toss to the Sunrisers Hyderabad batsman.

Bumrah bowled the delivery directly into the stomach area of Abhinav Manohar, and the batter was not expecting that kind of a delivery from the MI paceman.

Abhinav Manohar tried to play the delivery across, but he was hit below his stomach, which left him on the ground. Bumrah didn't bother to check on the batter, and he straightforwardly returned to his bowling mark, which was quite a cold-blooded move.

143 is a bit low on this wicket - Abhinav Manohar

Abhinav Manohar talked to the broadcasters during the mid-innings break and said that the score of 143 registered by SRH was quite low. He said:

"143 is a bit low on this wicket. It isn’t as flat as it looks on TV, the new ball is moving a bit. Gets easier as the game goes along. The fast bowlers weren’t getting much movement later and the spinners couldn’t get much hold either."

Abhinav Manohar further revealed that he was prepared to bat as he was expecting to get a chance as an impact player from the last three matches. He also talked about the message he received from the explosive Proteas batsman Heinrich Klaasen.

"From the past three games, I’ve been expecting a chance (as impact sub) so was ready. He (Klaasen) asked me to take the game till the 15th over, and then we can play catch-up from there. To watch him bat from the other end was amazing," he said.

Meanwhile, speaking at the pre-match press conference, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) assistant coach Simon Helmot said that they need to be at their best to beat Mumbai Indians (MI) as they are a good unit.

"Yeah, look, they're a really good team, so we know we have to give them the utmost respect, but they're certainly beatable, as every team is. So as long as we follow our processes as best we possibly can, follow our strategy, then things can work out for us."
