Arshdeep Singh performed brilliantly against the Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium, taking 3 wickets in exchange for 22 runs only. Overall, the 27-year-old's performance in the ongoing IPL 2026 season is decent. So far, in 6 matches, he has taken a total of 6 wickets in exchange for an economy rate of 9.63.
Punjab Kings are in stunning form
As a team, the Punjab Kings are in red-hot form. Currently, they are at the top of the points table as the only undefeated team in the session. In 6 matches, they have earned 11 points with five wins and one washed-out contest. The match against the Kolkata Knight Riders was washed out because of rain at the Eden Gardens, and the team had to share one point each.
In the previous match, which was against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), PBKS claimed a dominating win. Scoring 254 runs in the first innings, the Shreyas Iyer-led team confirmed their fifth win by 54 runs. The in-form batters of the team, like Prabhsimran Singh, Priyansh Arya, Iyer, and Cooper Connolly, have been in significant form for the team. Instead of depending on individual brilliance, Punjab's domination continues based on a pure team game.
Arshdeep Singh needs to be more consistent
In the previous season, too, the franchise's vision was the same: team game instead of individual brilliance. Under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer and head coach Ricky Ponting, the team is performing like a well-oiled machine. They would like to continue the form against the Delhi Capitals as well in the upcoming fixture.
Arshdeep Singh is the pace spearhead of the team, who is known as a wicket-taking bowler in the limited-overs format. Singh will have to show his best and needs to be more consistent. If the team is able to carry on the same form and intensity, then they can finally break the 19-year-long deadlock.
