Ashutosh Sharma was forced to walk off the field after a nasty collision with his teammate Mukesh Kumar during the game between Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Sunday (April 13).

The incident took place in the 19th over when Mohit Sharma was bowling to Tilak Varma. On the second ball of the over, Mohit bowled a slower delivery outside the off stump and Tilak sliced the ball towards short third man.

With the ball in the air, both Ashutosh Sharma and Mukesh Kumar went for the catch. However, neither of them called for the catch and it resulted in the collision. Ashutosh Sharma was at backward point while Mukesh was fielding at short third.

Delhi Capitals will be hoping that the injury is not serious and Ashutosh Sharma remains available for batting. The middle-order batsman played a stunning knock against Lucknow Super Giants in Delhi Capitals' first game of the season and powered them to a miraculous win with his 66-run knock.

Meanwhile, MI have posted a big total of 205/5 in the allotted 20 overs. Asked to bat first, MI were off to a shaky start as Rohit Sharma failed to deliver with the bat again and was dismissed for 18. On the other hand, Ryan Rickelton scored 41 while Suryakumar Yadav scored 40.

Tilak Varma impressed with the bat again, scoring his second fifty in a row to help his side post a competitive total. He scored 59 runs off 33 balls with the help of six fours and three sixes. Naman Dhir also played a crucial cameo of 38 runs off just 17 balls to help MI cross the 200-run mark.
