Indian spin-bowling all-rounder Axar Patel was dismissed by Sri Lanka National Cricket Team pacer Suranga Lakmal on Day 1 of the pink-ball Test match at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru on Saturday, March 12.
The Sri Lanka pacer Lakmal, who has picked over 170 wickets for the team in the purest format of the game and has led the side on a few occasions, is playing his last international game for Sri Lanka in Bengaluru against India.

He came to bowl the 50th over of the first innings of the match and was able to pick a crucial wicket of the all-rounder Axar Patel, who has got good batting skills.

Lakmal bowled a short of a length delivery, angling back into the left-handed batter and Axar played a loose cut shot. The Indian all-rounder Axar Patel was only able to get a big inside edge on the ball and the ball crashed onto the base of the middle stump.

Indian middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer, who is an incredible player of spin bowling, batted brilliantly on the tough batting surface and reached the 50-run milestone off just 54 balls.
Earlier, India were off to a poor start in the match as the opening batsman Mayank Agarwal was involved in a dramatic run-out and he got out after scoring just 4 runs in the 2nd over.
Captain Rohit Sharma added 19 runs with Hanuma Vihari before getting dismissed by Lasith Embuldeniya in the 10th over.
The No.3 batsman, Hanuma Vihari, and No.4 batter, Virat Kohli, had a good 47 runs partnership off 102 balls. The partnership was broken by Praveen Jayawickrama in the 27th overs as he dismissed Vihari and soon in the very next over Dhananjaya de Silva cleaned up Virat Kohli. Vihari scored 31 runs off 81 balls including 4 fours and Kohli scored 23 runs off 48 balls including 2 fours.
Rishabh Pant played a good counterattack inning but was castled by Lasith Embuldeniya in the 33rd over. His innings ended at the score of 39 runs off 26 balls, including 7 fours.
