Lahore Qalandars Secure Massive Victory Against Table Toppers

Lahore Qalandars pulled off an important win on Saturday, successfully chasing a 200-run target against Peshawar Zalmi. Captain Shaheen Afridi led from the front as the team reached the target with three balls remaining, securing their fifth win of the season and moving to fourth place on the points table.

Fakhar Zaman played a key role in the chase, scoring an unbeaten 58 off 47 balls. He anchored the innings with calm and control, ensuring the required run rate stayed within reach. His performance earned him the Player of the Match award.

The middle order supported him well. Abdullah Shafique added 25 runs in the powerplay, while Charith Asalanka contributed 33 to keep the innings steady. Sikandar Raza scored 29 off 11 balls, and Daniel Sams finished the chase with an unbeaten 35 off 15 deliveries.

Babar Azam Continues Spectacular Pakistan Super League Form

Before Lahore Qalandars completed their run chase, Peshawar Zalmi posted a competitive total of 199 runs. Babar steadied the innings after Shaheen Afridi picked up two early wickets. He scored a composed 59 off 45 balls, once again showing his consistency in the tournament.

Babar is currently the second-highest run-scorer in PSL 2026. He has scored 485 runs in nine innings at an impressive average of 80.83 and a strike rate of 141.40, showing both stability and improved scoring intent.

The right-handed batter smashed an unbeaten 100 against Quetta Gladiators, marking his third PSL century. He also became the fastest player to reach 100 T20 half-centuries and continues to be the highest run-scorer in PSL history.
