Watch- Babar Azam's team hotel set on fire in Pakistan; full team disturbed in PSL

A massive fire broke out at Islamabad’s Serena Hotel on Friday (11th April) ahead of the start of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025. This comes a massive development as all the players of the franchises, including Babar Azam, are stationed there.

The district administration spokesperson revealed that the massive fire erupted on the top floor of Islamabad’s Serena Hotel. However, immediately after that hotel’s emergency protocols were activated. Following that, the fire was controlled by the trained emergency response team.

The district administration spokesperson also revealed that as soon as the fire broke out, eight fire brigade vehicles reached the scene, and the situation was brought under control. He also mentioned that all the team members are safe and conditions at the hotel are also normalised.

"The fire erupted on the top floor of the five-star hotel. Eight fire brigade vehicles reached the spot to extinguish the fire. Fortunately, no damage to the property or the staff has been reported," said the spokesperson of the district administration.

Coming to the Pakistan Super League, the tournament will kickstart with the blockbuster clash between Islamabad United and Lahore Qalandars. The match between the teams will be taking place at the Rawalpindi International Cricket Stadium on Friday.

Babar Azam will be captaining Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League 2025

Coming to Babar Azam, the right-hander will be captaining Peshawar Zalmi in the league. He will be seen in action when his team takes on Quetta Gladiators in their opening game of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025. The match is all set to take place at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Saturday (12th April), and it will be an afternoon clash.

Babar Azam also faced an injury scare ahead of the game against Quetta Gladiators. The premier batter got hit on his foot while batting in the nets and was seen limping. The seriousness of the injury is yet to be known, and there's no confirmation if he will play the match or not.

The upcoming PSL 2025 will be a massive platform to take his place back in the Pakistan T20I side. The right-hander was recently dropped from the team for the T20I series against New Zealand as the PCB openly mentioned that they want to move on from him and give opportunities to youngsters.

Babar Azam will be playing a key role for the Peshawar Zalmi in the PSL 2025. The premier batter is expected to open the innings. He would be keen to lead from the front and take his team to glory in the 2025 edition of the league.
