Brydon Carse, on Saturday (January 25), gave England a huge breakthrough by dismissing Washington Sundar in the ongoing second T20I against India at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Chasing 166 runs, India were reeling at78 for 5 when Sundar joined Tilak Varma in the middle. The duo steadied the ship for India and took the score past the 100-run mark. With both the players well set, it looked like they would take the Men in Blue over the line.
However, England captain Jos Buttler introduced Brydon Carse into the attack and he made an instant impact by castling Sundar. After taking two wickets in his first two overs, Carse sent back Sundar in his third.
On the fourth ball of the over, Washington Sundar made room for himself to steer the ball towards the third man. However, he could not make any contact with the ball and paid a big price as the ball went on to crash into the stumps. Washington Sundar departed after scoring 26 runs off 19 balls.

Meanwhile, India were on 126/7 after 15 overs at the time of writing this report. They need 40 runs in the last five overs to go 2-0 up in the series. Earlier in the game, England finished their innings on 165/9.
A game to remember for Brydon Carse:
While only time will tell whether England win the ongoing match or not, Brydon Carse has definitely managed to make a big impact in the game. The England allrounder was recalled to the England playing 11 for the second T20I and he has totally justified the decision.
He has made a big impact with both bat and ball in the game to keep England in the hunt for a series-leveling win. He first impressed with the bat, smashing 31 runs before being run out. His knock came off just 17 balls and was studded with four and three sixes.
England were reeling at 90 for 5 before Brydon Carse's fine knock and useful contributions from other lower-order players helped them post a 150-plus total.
He then impressed with the ball. In the final over of the powerplay, the fast-bowling allrounder clean bowled India captain Suryakumar Yadav before dismissing Dhruv Jurel as well to reduce India to 66/4.
