Australia allrounder Chris Green took a stunning catch during the fourth match of The Hundred 2024 between Trent Rockets and Northern Superchargers. The match was played on July 26, 2024, at Headingley, Leeds.

In the 29th ball of the second innings when Northern Superchargers were batting, Lewis Gregory bowled a good length ball on the stumps. Seeing a length ball, Superchargers captain Matthew Short tried to heave the ball towards the vacant long-on region.

But the Australian mistimed the ball towards the wide long-on region. Green was standing at mid-on and raced back with full speed towards the ball. The offspinner then went airborne with a full stretch and caught the ball perfectly with both hands despite being in a horizontal position with the ground.

The video was posted by The Hundred on X (formerly Twitter). It was a perfect example of how to take a catch while running behind. The wicket of Matthew Short was a big wicket as he was one of their most important batters in the team. Short had smashed the previous delivery for a four through the leg side.

Coming to the match, Trent Rockets batted first after losing the toss. They started well with an opening wicket partnership of 44 off 24 balls before Adam Lyth was dismissed. Alex Hales was also dismissed in some time. But Tom Banton kept playing his natural game and smashed a brilliant 66 off 38 balls, which included 9 fours and 1 six. Sam Hain played a magnificent knock at No. 4 and scored 49 off 28 balls.

Chris Green not only took a great catch but also had an excellent day with the bat. The Australian allrounder scored an unbeaten 25 off just 7 balls with 3 sixes and 1 four that helped Rockets post 185-5 in a hundred balls.

Chasing a big score, Superchargers started well and scored 41 for the first wicket. But as they lost their opener, Graham Clark, wickets started tumbling. Chris Green's unbelievable catch to dismiss the Supercharger's skipper and No. 3 batter Matthew Short further hurt them.

Superchargers had huge expectations for Nicholas Pooran but he was dismissed for just 10 runs. The middle order failed to live up to the expectations which cost them the match. Although Ben Dwarshuis and Matthew Potts collected useful runs in the end, that was not enough for them to even reach close to the target.

Dwarshuis smashed an unbeaten 40 off 20 balls while Potts scored 24 off 18 balls. Chris Green's day got even better as he also picked up three wickets with the ball. He finished with 3-14 in 20 balls, which included 11 dots while skipper Lewis Gregory picked up 2 wickets.
