Bumrah has been out of action since the last Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. The pacer suffered a back injury during the Sydney Test and didn't bowl in the second innings. After that, it was revealed that he had experienced back spasms and had been advised to rest.

Bumrah doubtful for Champions Trophy

Bumrah hasn't been picked in the Indian team for the first two ODIs against England but has been added to the team for the third match and the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. However, there is no surety if he will be playing in the tournament for the team or not.

There also hasn't been any official update about the fitness of the pacer. But a recent report in Times of India has claimed that everything will be dependent on the report given by the specialist in New Zealand, whom the pacer consulted after the injury. If he misses the tournament, it will be a massive blow for the team in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

Bumrah has been the best Indian pacer in all three formats for the Indian team. He recently won the Player of the Tournament in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 and also was on the top of his game during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. He picked up 32 wickets in the series and ended up as the leading wicket-taker in the series.
