Islamabad United continued their winning streak in the PSL 2025 with an emphatic seven-wicket victory in Multan on Wednesday, April 23. They chased down a 169-run target with 17 balls to spare. Andries Gous scored an unbeaten 80 runs off just 45 deliveries, while Colin Munro added 45 runs off 28 balls.

The incident happened during the 10th over of Islamabad United’s chase. Colin Munro accused Iftikhar Ahmed of an illegal bowling action. After defending a yorker from Iftikhar, Munro made a clear hand gesture mimicking a bent arm.

Iftikhar reacted with visible frustration, walking straight to the on-field umpire to challenge the gesture. Mohammad Rizwan had to intervene and confront Munro. Several Multan players also showed their disapproval after the accusations.

Umpires stepped in to to put an end to the argument and managed to calm the players. Rizwan reportedly asked Munro to focus on batting, while the officials allowed the game to continue without further delays.

PSL’s official social media handle shared the clip of the on-field exchange between Colin Munro and Iftikhar Ahmed. The clip went viral and sparked widespread debate among fans. Some backed Munro's stance, while others criticized his gesture.

At the time of the heated exchange, Colin Munro was at 40 runs off 23 balls. However, he was dismissed shortly after being caught by Iftikhar Ahmed. Iftikhar finished with figures of 0 for 20 from his two overs.

Islamabad United Clinch Comprehensive Victory Over Multan Sultans in PSL 2025

Batting first, Multan posted a total of 168/5 in 20 overs. Usman Khan scored 61 runs off 40 balls, including four boundaries and as many sixes. Mohammad Rizwan scored 36 runs off 37 balls at a strike rate of 97.30.

In response, Islamabad were in control throughout the chase. Colin Munro scored 45 runs off 28 balls, including five boundaries and two sixes. Andries Gous added an unbeaten 80 runs from just 45 balls, with six boundaries and five sixes.

Islamabad completed the chase with seven wickets and nearly three overs to spare. The Shadab Khan-led team continued their winning momentum and remain at the top of the table with five wins from five matches.

Meanwhile, the Mohammad Rizwan-led team is at the bottom of the table. They have just two points with one win and four losses.
