India star Hardik Pandya survived a run-out scare on Saturday (October 12) as Bangladesh made a mess of an easy chance during the third T20I at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.

The incident took place in the 18th over when Hardik Pandya was up against left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman. On the third ball of the over, his knock was agonisingly close to coming to an end but he received a big reprieve thanks to the comedy of errors from the Bangladesh player.

Hardik Pandya got an inside edge onto his pads after Mustafizur bowled a pinpoint yorker and the ball rolled towards wicketkeeper Litton Das. In the meantime, Riyan Parag decided to go for a quick single although Pandya was not at all interested. In fact, Pandya was not even looking up as he was hurt by the yorker.

When he finally looked up, he saw Parag next to him. With both the batsmen at the same end, Bangladesh fielders had all the time in the world to effect a run-out. Both the batters then started running towards the non-striker's end while Litton Das's underarm throw was also directed at the same end.

It was a poor throw from Litton as the ball went over the bowler. Najmul Hossain Shanto was backing up but he could not collect the ball cleanly. In the meantime, Pandya managed to reach the non-striker's end safely.

Talking about the game, Bangladesh endured yet another forgettable outing with the ball. Riding on Sanju Samson's maiden T20I century, Team India posted a mammoth total of 297/6 in the allotted 20 overs. It is India's highest T20I total, surpassing the 260/5 they scored against Sri Lanka in 2017.

Samson starred with the bat for India, scoring a 40-ball ton. He eventually scored 111 runs off 47 balls with the help of 11 fours and eight sixes. Captain Suryakumar Yadav impressed with the bat as well, smashing 75 off just 35 balls. Pandya played a fine knock too, scoring 47 off 18 balls.
