Death on a cricket field is extremely harrowing for all the players and officials involved as the loss of life in front of your eyes is not a good experience. Something similar happened in a tennis ball cricket match in Junnar tehsil of Pune district in India on Wednesday.

As per the Sakal Times report, a 47-year-old cricketer by the name of Babu Nalawade collapsed on the field during a match while standing at the non-striker’s end and later passed away due to a massive heart attack.

Non-Strikers Falls To The Ground After A Massive Heart Attack

The incident takes place in the Jadhav wadi village, where a local tennis ball tournament was being organized. A video surfaced online of the tragic incident in which the batsman at the non-striker’s end is seen first sitting down feeling uneasy. A couple of moments later, the player collapses on the ground and is flat on the ground.

Notably, before the next ball is bowled, the non-striker is seen in conversation with the batsman at the batting end and telling him to time the ball properly. However, afterward, he sits down and faints in a matter of a minute. The umpire stops the play and tends to the player, while the bowler and wicketkeeper rush to the aid of the fallen player.

Everyone is gesturing for someone to come and help them. The player was reportedly rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival. An autopsy conducted at the hospital later confirmed that he had had a heart attack, the official said.

“He was rushed to a private hospital where he was declared brought dead,” said an official from Narayangaon police station.

On January 18 as well, in an unfortunate event, a 25-year-old man had lost his life during a game of cricket, As per PTI reports, 25-year-old Raman Gaikwad suddenly collapsed on the ground in Maharashtra. The local police had asserted that the deceased was declared dead at a hospital. Cardiac arrest was suspected to be the reason behind Gaikwad’s death at the time.
