Vidarbha's young batting sensation Danish Malewar scored a magnificent hundred against Kerala in the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 at Nagpur. After reaching the three-figure mark, Malewar emulated KL Rahul's celebration by suggesting to shut out the outside noise.
Danish Malewar reached the three-figure mark in style with a six and a four. The right-hander was on 93 when he came down the track to smash a fuller ball over the left-arm spinner Aditya Sarwate's head for a six.
In Sarwate's next over, Malewar went on the back foot and whipped a ball through the midwicket region for a four to bring up his second first-class hundred. The youngster kept his bat and helmet down to emulate the star Indian cricketer KL Rahul in his celebration.

It was a brilliant knock from the youngster as he soaked in the pressure of a final when his team was in deep trouble. He maintained his composure throughout the knock and showed glimpses about his future abilities.
Fantastic partnership between Danish Malewar and Karun Nair
Danish Malewar walked in to bat when Vidarbha were reduced to 11-2 after being put in to bat first. A few overs later, Vidarbha also lost the experienced opener Dhruv Shorey for 16 off 35 balls.
At 24-3, they were in deep trouble when Karun Nair joined Malewar at the crease. Both of them avoided playing risky shots but ensured to put the bad balls away as well. Malewar showed excellent temperament in his knock in just his ninth first-class game.
He was solid in his knock and didn't allow the pressure to get to him. Vidarbha team management showed extreme courage to play him at No. 4, even above the more experienced and in-form Karun Nair.
Malewar completed his century off just 168 balls with 12 fours and 2 sixes. He is receiving good company from Karun Nair who is also batting well and has completed his half-century.
The partnership between both these players has already crossed the 150-run mark and they will be looking to put in as many runs as they can. Nair has been in fine form with the bat and found an able partner in Malewar.
Danish Malewar's impressive season
Danish Malewar struck fine fifties in the semi-final and quarter-final to help his team reach this stage. He also scored his maiden first-class century this season against Gujarat in the group stage.
Meanwhile, it has been a frustrating partnership for Kerala who started this game extremely well with three top order wickets. Fast bowler MD Nidheesh picked up the wickets of Parth Rekhade and Darshan Nalkande while the youngster Eden Apple Tom picked up the big wicket of Dhruv Shorey.
Kerala reached the Ranji Trophy final after a fine performance in the semi-final against Gujarat where they went past Gujarat on the back of first innings lead of two runs. It is the first ever Ranji Trophy final for Kerala which makes it a huge occasion for them.
