Virat Kohli was yet again dismissed for a low score during the third Test between India and New Zealand at Mumbai. The 35-year-old star India batter was expected to take his team out of trouble but he yet again failed to get amongst the runs.
Virat Kohli walked in to bat when India were in deep trouble at 16-2. But during the sixth over of the innings, left-arm spinner Ajaz Patel got a ball to turn and bounce. The ball took the shoulder of Virat Kohli's bat as he tried to defend without reaching the pitch of the ball.
Daryl Mitchell, who was stationed at slip, dived forward and caught the ball just inches above the ground. Mitchell was pumped up after taking the catch as he knew the importance of the wicket of Virat Kohli.

Virat Kohli was dismissed for just 1 off 7 balls as his poor form continued. Virat Kohli has been struggling against spinners in this home Test season and it was no different here.
Virat Kohli's wicket totally silenced the crowd who were waiting for their favorite star to take India to a win. However, it wasn't his day. Kohli was dismissed for just 4 runs in the first innings. He was the third Indian wicket to fall on the day as India were reduced to 18-3 during their chase of 147.
India's batters continue to struggle against spin
Meanwhile, it was another disappointing performance from India's famed batting line-up who struggled against Ajaz Patel and Co. Not only Virat Kohli, but the other Indian batters too failed to put up a significant score on the board.
Indian captain Rohit Sharma had another low score to his name as he was out for just 11. Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal too were dismissd for single-digit scores.
Local player Sarfaraz Khan was out when he smashed a full toss right to the midwicket fielder. Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja tried to resurrect the innings with a partnership. However, Jadeja was put for 6 off 42 balls.
At lunch, India were 92-6 with India needing 55 more runs to win the match and New Zealand needing 4 wickets for a clean-sweep. Pant and Washington Sundar were at the crease with Pant fighting the lone battle with a brilliant half-century.
Ajaz Patel leads the way for New Zealand
New Zealand's bowling was superb as it has been throughout the series. After Matt Henry provided them with the opening breakthrough, the spinners tightened the grip on the game with some magnificent bowling.
After picking up a five-wicket haul in the first innings, Ajaz Patel has already taken four out of the first six wickets of New Zealand. He will be looking to pick up the remaining Indian wickets quickly to wrap up a memorable series win for his team.
